12-MONTH MILESTONE

Professional Game Production
Build for the real world.

Take a tightly scoped game, in your chosen engine track, through production, release preparation and a professional presentation.

WHAT YOU'LL EXPLORE

01

Team production & milestone management

02

Advanced programming — object-oriented structures & systems architecture in C++ or C#

03

Performance, accessibility & QA

04

Full-pipeline asset production with Blender, Substance Painter, Faceform Wrap & MetaTailor

05

AI-accelerated production with 3D AI Studio, Lychee Studio, Meshy AI & YVO3D

06

Release materials & commercial planning

07

Portfolio, pitch & final assessment

WHAT YOU'LL BE ABLE TO DO

  • Manage a team production schedule against real milestones and deadlines.

  • Apply advanced object-oriented programming structures and systems architecture in C++ (Unreal Engine) or C# (Stride), depending on your track.

  • Optimize a game for performance and accessibility across target hardware.

  • Run a full asset pipeline — modelling, texturing, facial and clothing work — using Blender, Substance Painter, Faceform Wrap and MetaTailor.

  • Integrate AI-assisted production tools, including 3D AI Studio, Lychee Studio, Meshy AI and YVO3D, into a real production pipeline.

  • Prepare release materials — store page copy, screenshots, trailer and press kit.

  • Build a commercial plan covering positioning, audience and release strategy.

  • Assemble a professional portfolio, pitch it to a review panel, and take a tightly scoped game from vertical slice to a release-ready build.

YOUR COMPLETION MILESTONE

A tightly scoped release-ready game, a professional portfolio and a release and pitch package.

Assessment combines your project's quality, individual contribution, documented process and presentation.

TOOLS & SOFTWARE AT THIS STAGE

Unreal Engine 5

Our primary engine for RPG production — real-time worlds, Blueprints and C++ programming.

Official software site ↗

Stride

An open-source C# engine we teach for students moving toward RTS and systems-driven games.

Official software site ↗

Blender

3D modelling, sculpting, rigging and animation for characters, props and environments.

Official software site ↗

Substance Painter

Adobe’s industry-standard PBR texturing and material authoring for game-ready assets.

Faceform Wrap

Scan wrapping and topology transfer to prepare consistent character meshes for later production steps.

Official software site ↗

MetaTailor

AI-assisted 3D clothing and outfitting for characters, with cloth physics and auto-posing.

3D AI Studio

Generates base 3D models from images or text prompts to accelerate early asset blockouts.

Lychee Studio

AI-powered generation of complete 3D worlds and asset sets for rapid prototyping.

Meshy AI

Text-to-3D and image-to-3D generation for early assets, followed by review, cleanup and game-engine testing.

Official software site ↗

YVO3D

AI-generated 3D models and environments built for direct use inside Unreal Engine.

Houdini

Procedural environments, simulation and visual effects for advanced-stage projects.

Official software site ↗

Photoshop

2D concept art, mood boards, texture painting and marketing/store-page compositing.

Software names and logos identify tools in the proposed curriculum. They do not imply certification, sponsorship or an institutional partnership. Licenses, subscriptions and tool availability will be confirmed before enrollment.

THE NEXT THREE MONTHS / IN DETAIL

What progress
looks like.

Indicative teaching sequence. These are the three months leading to this milestone; the full pathway builds cumulatively.

Month 10

Commit to a finishable game

Lock the scope of a small game and plan the remaining production. Define ownership of tasks, acceptance criteria, build responsibility and a schedule for external playtesting.

EVIDENCE YOU'LL CREATE

Production plan, prioritized backlog and a stable milestone build.

Month 11

Complete and refine

Finish the agreed content, improve performance and review accessibility. Prepare a trailer, screenshots, store-page copy and a concise pitch while testing the complete player journey.

EVIDENCE YOU'LL CREATE

Content-complete build, QA evidence and a draft release package.

Month 12

Present a professional package

Resolve critical issues and prepare a release candidate. Document installation, controls, credits and asset permissions. Present the game, your contribution and the commercial plan to a review panel.

EVIDENCE YOU'LL CREATE

A tightly scoped release-ready game, individual portfolio and pitch package.

Progress is demonstrated, not just attended.

Expect to show working builds, explain your decisions and document your own contribution. A team deliverable does not replace individual competency. Final rubrics, attendance rules and reassessment arrangements will be shared before formal enrollment.
